Main features of bronze
Bronze is an alloy made up of copper and tin, divided in most cases in the percentages of 88% and 12% respectively. Bronze can also contain other elements, such as manganese, aluminum, phosphorus, nickel, zinc and arsenic.
Through the laser cutting of bronze it is possible to work this metal in many ways, creating different objects both for everyday life and for industry.
Considering the properties of this elementi t is important to reiterate that they depend a lot on the specific composition of the alloy and also on the ways in which it was worked. The main features include:
- high ductility;
- reduced friction in contact with other metals;
- the possibility of using it near flammable or explosive materials, since hitting it against a hard surface does not generate sparks.
The bronze, when exposed to air, oxidizes, forming a surface patina, which protects the underlying material from further corrosion. The only exception is contact with chlorides (also present in sea water), which corrode the metal internally until it is destroyed.
Chimimetal and bronze processing
Thanks to the transmission of the energy beam that passes from the diodes and fiber cables in a reduced wavelength, it is possible to obtain an excellent result in terms of cutting precision, which in the specific case of laser cutting of bronze takes place inside a machining range between 0.5 and 2.00 mm in depth.
Final products
The processing of bronze through the laser cutting technique allows us to create products for all industrial sectors. In particular, Chimimetal is expert in the realization of laser cutting to obtain electronic contacts, mechanical parts, E-type to imprint watermarks on paper and faston.
